Citrus layout

It's been ages (a year to be more certain)  since I created a layout... It's high time to get back to scrapping! And the newest challenge at Homyachok challenge blog made me think of it. Vitamins - any project featuring products full of vitamins. I had a loooot of plans, but my husband and baby ruined them all and I hardly finished this one.
It's the third layout for my pregnancy scrapbook. It's 20x20 cm (8" by 8"). Third month of pregnancy.

I sincerely wanted to join the challenge at Stuck on U sketches blog: http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.ru/2012/10/sketch-challenge-oct-26th.html with this lovely sketch:
But I had a portrait photo and I was planning to turn this sketch, but then I turned it and twisted, and glued, and stitched... and when I took a final look at the sketch to add the final touch to my layout - I found out that I mixed it all =(  I made the scalloped central square, the title layer and the photo matting, the twisted journaling thingie and two tags, and replaced the spiderweb with spilled milk on top... but I made mistakes with placing the things on their places. I would love to enter the sketch challenge, but if ladies of the Stuck on U Sketches blog decide that my LO doesn't fit - it's ok. Thanks for the chance anyway, the sketch was lovely =)

So, back to description of my LO. During the 3rd pregnancy month I was extremely thirsty, but couldn't drink much, "morning sickness" didn't let me drink any water, and juice, tea and coffee seemed to be disgusting, so I enjoyed eating citruses (grapefruit was the yummiest!) and drinking milk - that's what the journaling in the spilled milk stain says, I made a shaker there filled with tiny orange nail embellishments.
The scalloped square imitates citruses, I used my Craftrobo to cut that. That's the process of this border creation:
Smaller orange scallops inserted in the cuts in the white paper.
A lot of bright papers, it's probably the brightest project I've ever created. =)
Some details:
Click to enlarge (all pics). The journaling consists of a few small notes on bright papers, folded and adhered to the calender net. Each can be unfolded and read. Most of the journaling is private, so I'm not showing and translating that =) sorry, guys =) though the unfolded piece is pretty funny: I visited a neurologist for a consultation concerning my back aches (I have a couple of problems with my spine) and pregnancy, and what I heard from the doctor was: "You're pregnant! You KARMA HAS CHANGED, take care of yourself and that's it" =))) And that was a medical doctor consultation, ridiculous. Although most of the doctors here are the same... My gynecologist offered me to take iodine when I asked whether I could take flourine (to support my teeth), as it's almost the same =)))

Tags provide two other photos made during that month (it's April! snow in the park, brrr!), each tied with a tiny ribbon so they won't get lost.
And a couple of quilled elements, I love quilled citruses =)))

Thanks for looking!

  2. Welcome to Stuck On U Sketches Helen. I can still see the sketch!! Love the spilled milk, and it's a shaker with little orange slices in it, too cute! What an original idea with the secret journaling on the little calendar. And the way you have done the orange segments border around the photograph is brilliant. The quilled fruit pieces are cool too. Nicely done. Thanks for joining us at SOUS. I hope you will join us again!

    1. Thank you very much for approvement and kind words =) I seldom use sketches and almost every time I try my project gets rejected like "you haven't put a flower in that corner" or "you shouldn't have twisted it", so I'm too careful when entering a sketch challenge now. And I love your attitude =) it makes me want to create =)
