A card 'For my CHERRYshed one'

My best friend had her birthday last week. And of course I wanted to make a card for her. I always think a lot before creating something for special people, not just an "all-occasion flower card", but something peculiar. This time I remembered that the girl loves cherries - now it's the high season for cherries. And I couldn't help resisting the idea of making a cherry card.
That's what I made:

With this card I would like to take part in ArtUgolok sketch challenge
and ScrapMama recipe challenge.
The sketch is shown below: I rotated it.

And Scrapmama offers the following 'recipe' for the card:
-wire or spring
-button
-fruit or berry
-green color.
Everything's on the card. =)

It's a very unusual card for me, but still - it's very "handmade". Both cherry-patterns are handmade. The 3d cherries are 100% handmade. The leaves are handmade too. =) Hope my friend will like that =)
And the sentiment says "For my CHERRYshed one", yes, I know that the word "cherished" is spelled in another way, but I wanted to play with words to make the cherries' presence obvious =)

Microbeads: what and why

I'm excited to report that I was honoured to write an article for Russian scrapbooking portal Скрапбукинг для всех / rus-scrap.ru ; it is called Microbeads in scrapbooking. Wanted to fill it with my own examples, but the project leaders said that showing different examples would be better, so it's most about microbeads in other blogs.
I'm inviting you to check out the article, maybe you'll have new ideas and inspiration; and if you want to see my beaded creations click on the tag beads. =)

Fragrant Paris layout

It's the first time ever I tried applying sketch for my layout which I didn't create myself. And I want to take part in PageMaps challenge with the following sketch:

And with the colors I used I want to participate in Paper Secrets' color challenge:

So, it's another layout for my Paris album. During the visit we had an excursion to the Perfume museum "Fragonard" with an opportunity of trying and buying the fragrances.
It was forbidden to take photos inside of the building, so we have the only photo left from that tour: me in front of the museum sniffing the testing stripe. But luckily I have all of those testing stripes - sprayed with different fragrances and signed - collected and stored. You know, it was a year ago, but the stripes still have their aroma!
So, back to the layout:

Wedding layout with lilacs

Today I'm showing my project I've done for the May-themed challenge at rus-scrap.ru. It took 5th place out of 50.

Size is 20 x 20 cm (8" x 8"). The background is bright-green embossed cardboard. There are three wedding photos of my husband and I among lilacs. Corners of the photos are embellished with spirella-like threads.
White lace and satin skeleton ribbon with bright-green thin ribbon.
The bigger photo is framed with lavender stripes, crossed with white (to correspond with the above mentioned ribbon). And two lilac sprays made out of beads left from the dress beading at the corners.

There's a poem written in ink by hand on a piece of embossed vellum. The poem, which I've composed myself, says:

Awe, excitement, morning - plus 30C
Purple bouquet, white chiffon,
Registry office, expectation, happy faces
"Man and wife" - it seems to be a dream.
"Moscow 88", lilac garden,
Showers, racoon, round loaf,
Aroma of fragrant lilac sprays,
That was our reckless May.
That day has bound our fates:
May, a kiss, love and lilacs.

Well, in Russian it makes more sense and has better rhyme =) If I'll have some inspiration I'll make an English version of it.

And the main embellishment, a quilled lilac spray:

I used stripes of 3 colors (lilac, mauve and lavender) and 3 widths: 3 mm - standard and these stripes cut in 2 and 3 parts. Flowers are brushed with purple ink pads a little. Each flower has a golden microbead on the middle.
Leaves are created with loops of 2 green shades.

There were problems I faced when making this layout, and frankly speaking I don't like it much, so I plan to disintegrate it and make a lovely framed lilacs-only work. =) So stay tuned, I'll complete it someday!

Clothes for a bear-lady

Some years ago my mom and I walked in Columbia Mall, MD, and passed by a cute store: Build-a-bear workshop. A funny curly face smiled at us from the box and we couldn't resist her charm; so our Honey was born. The store is amazing - that's something I dreamt about in my childhood; now we have this store in Moscow, too; and it doesn't impress as much as it did during my first visit. Yet I love it! =)
So, I have a teddy bear and as she's a 100% girl - she needs a lot of dresses =)
Buying at Build-a-bear is fun, but sometimes it's expensive and as bears like Honey are already "out of stock" not all clothes sold fit her well.
I took the needles and the threads... And here are some of her clothes I've created.
